Global Elite Sports have partnered with High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) whose vision is to inspire the nation through more New Zealanders winning on the world stage at Olympic / Paralympic Games and world championships in targeted sports. HPSNZ work in partnership with National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) to identify existing strengths and push them even further by using innovative approaches to sports science, technology and athlete wellbeing.
In collaboration with NSOs, HPSNZ place carefully chosen teams of experts around elite athletes and coaches, and through a holistic and collaborative approach, provide the additional resources, knowledge and inspiration needed to enhance their world-beating capability. HPSNZ empowers New Zealand Sporting organisations and athletes to constantly strive to outperform international benchmarks and achieve on the world stage.
We are seeking a dynamic and proven performance-based leader to contribute to HPSNZ’s aim of strengthening the high-performance sport system for sustained success.
You will lead HPSNZ’s Performance Team Leaders, Coaching, Athlete Development, Leader Capability and Campaign Planning teams in delivery of the HPSNZ strategic priorities. Fundamental to this role you will lead, implement and evaluate HPSNZ’s high performance investment strategy to achieve international performance outcomes in line with HPSNZ’s Strategic Plan.
Reporting into the CEO and representing a key member of the HPSNZ Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead and improve HPSNZ’s working relationships and partnerships with targeted National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) and other key stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE, CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role you will have exceptional communication and relationship management skills with the ability to listen, collaborate, influence and develop strong trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have experience and understanding of issues that impact on staff /stakeholder wellbeing in a performance environment and the ability to proactively and collaboratively address these with staff and stakeholders.
You will have demonstrated leadership experience and a proven track record in leading and managing successful team(s) in high performance sporting environments. You will be highly skilled in conceptual thinking with the ability to analyse and problem solve, identify strategic opportunities and emerging issues. You will have significant experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of high performance investment strategies to achieve required outcomes.
This role is Auckland based, some travel may be required to our other locations.
