The Auckland Rugby Union are seeking a full-time Head Coach to lead our NPC (Mitre 10 Cup) team programme. The Head Coach position is accountable for the leading the performance of the ARU NPC programme – which includes, but is not limited to; talent identification, player development, game plan development and execution within a positive, achievement focused team environment. To be successful within this role, it will require leadership of coaching resources and collaborative engagement with ARU’s Head of High Performance and other ARU staff.
This role will also be involved in coaching the technical and tactical development of players within the Auckland Rugby Academy (the union’s future NPC players), and the ongoing up-skilling of the Union’s developing high-performance rugby coaches. Adherence to the ARU values of Belief, Leadership, Unity, Excellence as we are Playing to Win, is paramount in the role.
To be Head Coach of Auckland Rugby’s premier team you will have proven experience leading High Performance Rugby Teams as a Head Coach at the equivalent of NPC (provincial level) or higher and demonstrated a track record for developing people (coaches and players) into leaders within teams which promotes high performing/achievement cultures. Your success as a Head Coach will be illustrated in your proven track record of winning competitions.
You will possess outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) and proven ability to build strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with players, staff and other key stakeholders from board through to Super Rugby and Community Rugby coaches.
You will have strong and proven leadership skills with the ability, knowledge and experience to inspire optimum performance and thrive in a high pressure, high profile environment such as a Mitre 10 Cup.
